Cartoony illustrations accompany the photographs, delivering quick trivia alongside the light-hearted drawings. A simple glossary and website conclude the book and direct the child in pursuit of more butterfly knowledge.

Butterflies are a perennial favorite with adults and children alike. They are a quick wink of beauty in the day. Seeing a butterfly fly generally lightens my day for a moment. This book focuses on the beauty and importance of the insect in all of its incarnations - even the creeping caterpillar is honored and hailed as important. A competent beginning reader story that should be attractive to early readers.
