Very cute story about a little gosling who LOVES her red boots. And then one day they disappear and she looks everywhere for them - which is cute. My two year old enjoys the hunt for her red boots. However, I think the end is a confusing to little ones because Gossie and Gertie look way too much

alike - but that's my only complaint.

We have read all the books in this series. They're very simple and formulaic, but in a good way - very cute, too.

Only problem? After the 100th rendition (especially if you're reading the other very similar books as well), you can recite that book in your sleep. And you will. Oh, how you will.

Gossie wears her bright red boots every day - so what happens when they are missing? A cute story, with darling illustrations, and simple text that is perfect for the little ones. It has a nice moral lesson to it, and her search for her boots is a great way to teach prepositions (behind, under,
Show More
over, in ...) when Aubrey's a little older. We both really like this story.

Gossie is a happy and active gosling who wears her favorite red rubber boots every day, until the day she wakes up to discover that her boots are missing. Olivier Dunrea's brightly-colored illustrations depict an actively curious Gossie, who is always investigating different creatures and
Show More
situations. And for a creature whose facial expression is limited to an opening and closing her beak, Dunrea endows his gosling with emotion through raised wings and jaunty steps. Gossie’s generous reaction to another gosling borrowing her boots serves as a good example to children that shared tastes can lead to good friends. While the board book version of this story may not be large enough for story time, the highly sympathetic Gossie would be a great tool for discussions about sharing. This book is recommended for both public and school libraries.

I loved this. Simple words and illustrations, a little bot of detail to talk about on each page, soothing repetition, and a hilarious ending.

Gossie loves her red boots and wears them everywhere, until one morning when she discovers that they're missing. When she finds them on the feet of another smaller duck she decides to share them and the book ends with each of them wearing one red boot. Very young children will respond very well to
Show More
this story as they are learning to share and will be able to relate to Gossie. The illustrations are very eye catching with simplistic watercolor and ink pictures that contrast in an amusing way with a stark white background.
