This is one of those graphic novels that is 'alright' but could have been so much better with a bit more effort from the writer (Ron Marz). If you're looking for some further insight into Darth Maul's character and history then this is NOT the boo for you. On the other hand, if you'd love to see

Maul flashing that cool double-edged lightsabre about and dispatching loads of alien gangsters and criminals then you will probably love this. The artwork, whilst nothing breathtaking, saves this from being consigned to 'utter dross' and is both easy on the eye and an exciting piece of action-capture. Give it a try... just don't expect any real depth or plot.

Well, this one is like a true Sith story :) “Veni, vidi.vici” is perhaps best description of this comic – Darth Maul is sent by his master to cripple Black sun criminal syndicate and thus prevent them from meddling in his plans. Maul does it in a very simplistic bat rather effective manner

– by totally eradicating the threat, and by this I mean TOTALLY ERADICATE. Maul is a killing machine, bread and trained for no other purpose but to act as a guided weapon for the Sith.

Great action, great art – only missing is perhaps more … story I guess :) but again this is about Darth Maul – talk is not for him, just action.

Recommended.

Darth Maul has always been my favourite Sith and so getting this was a no brainer for me.
Reading through, it gives you some insight into the events leading up the the travesty that was The Phantom Menace and it's really quite interesting.

I've always loved the expanded universe and books like this

that give and extra look into the background of a character (particularly one as mysterious as Maul) I just eat up. Personally, I found this too short. I would have liked a larger volume that covered his early training down to the events just previous the Menace but, hey, beggars can't be choosers.

If you're a fan of Star Wars and you like to know a little more of a character than the film portrays, then you'll really enjoy this.
