I typically really enjoy Timothy Zahn's books. However, this one was quite dull and pointless. "The choices of one shape the future of all." It's a great Jedi phrase that could have had a lot more importance to the story.

To mark the 20th anniversary of the publication of Star Wars: Heir to the Empire, Zahn returns with a new novel of adventure, action, and intrigue starring the young Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia Organa, and the beloved Mara Jade.

Best Tim Zahn Star Wars book since The Last Command. Classic Thrawn twists and Mara is just as bad as ever... Highly recommended.

Slow in some parts, faster in others. I would say it's okay.

The Imperial Fleet’s Chimaera received mysterious and questionable orders from somewhere high up in the Imperial ranks placing Chimaera on transport duty. Their task had been simply to transport an even more mysterious Lord Ordo. Things suddenly didn’t feel quite right for Commander Gilad

Pallaeon as their rendezvous had been under an assault as they approached for pick-up. Set shortly after the destruction of the first death star, the Rebel Alliance is under search of a new rebel base. When an Imperial Governor practically throws one to them, things began to feel not truly as they appear to Jedi in training, Luke Skywalker. Questions began rising through Luke’s mind such as, who was this mysterious lightsaber wielding female that he had been ordered to watch out for, and was he ready to duel in the art of lightsabers just yet?. Then suddenly, Luke finds himself caught right in the middle of what appears to be a planned assault by this mystery jedi. Timothy Zahn’s Star Wars epic, Star Wars: Choices of One, is a Del Rey novel filled to the brim with mystery, excitement, plot twists, and adventure. Set three months after Zahn’s Star Wars: Allegiance, Choices of One can be read either as a sequel or a standalone and still leave the reader captivated.

It is definitely starting to feel like Zahn has reacted to the overly-complicated Star Wars EU plotlines by retreating into his shell and writing books *only* about his pet creations Thrawn, Jade and the Karrde organization. I have fond memories of Heir to the Empire, but doing more and more books

about the same characters is only serving to make them all less mysterious and more hounded by absurd continuity contortions, like the rest of the Star Wars EU.
