Despite the terrible decision to drop the cleverly reimagined fairy tale formula and instead make the sequel into a generic spy spoof / superhero action comedy everyone has seen many, many times before and just sprinkle some fairy tale references on top, this is actually fairly decent. It is saved

in large part by an absolutely terrific voice cast and some pretty decently funny dialogue (even if even this is a bit more unpolished and repetitive than in the original). Considering the original Hoodwinked! is (badly aged CGI aside) one of the finest films of its type, the drop is a big one, but if you go into the sequel aware of that, you should be able to find a good number of things to enjoy in it even so. At least we did.
