Well, that was... unique. I mean, I liked it, I liked it a lot. Just like I liked the previous three volumes. And, I guess I'm impressed, it's seriously almost an entire graphic novel collection about coffee beans and coffee. Only in Portland?
There was one smaller almost totally silent story after
Can't say that I liked Fuji (I mean, she was written amazingly, but, I didn't like her character), but, that did mean that we got to see more Ansel, so, I'm good with that. If I get more Ansel between the pages, then I'm happy to deal with a little Fuji also.
It was a fun read. Although, I'm with Dex, coffee is coffee, either the caffeine in it works, or it doesn't, who cares what it tastes like. Heh.

the main one which was cool too. A very interesting way to look at what Dex does (and what most PIs cases really are) not to mention moving the Jimmy/Dex story a bit. Can't say that I liked Fuji (I mean, she was written amazingly, but, I didn't like her character), but, that did mean that we got to see more Ansel, so, I'm good with that. I thought last volume's soccer theme was the least interesting thing in the world, but then I find that this one is about coffee. I don't drink coffee. I dislike the smell of coffee. I can't stand coming across someone's forgotten mug of coffee around my workplace. Yuck.
Given all that, Rucka

manages to keep me engaged enough to look forward to the next volume. I just hope it isn't about sushi or golf. Show Less

This is really a 3.5, but I'm rounding up to a 4. So far this has been the weakest for me because it seemed the least "plausible." Coffee? Barista mafia? Come on now. I can suspend belief for a lot but that is crossing a line. Dex is hired to ferry some VERY expensive coffee from the plane to her

client's house. She keeps getting harassed by coffee snobs who want to bribe her (or beat her) to get some of the coffee beans for themselves. It's getting out of hand and Dex is getting pissed. To make matters worse her freeloading sister, Fuji, has dropped in unannounced and plans on crashing for as long as she can. Tensions run high at home and work isn't making anything better. Far fetched, but still enjoyable. Show Less
