Description
A new translation according to the traditional Hebrew text The Psalms have long brought comfort to those who mourn and have helped us find the spiritual in everyday life. This edition presents the new JPS translation, based on the original Hebrew text, as well as the entire range of Psalms interpretation and modern linguistic scholarship. Syntactic divisions, spellings, and vocalization reflect the Jewish Masoretic tradition. Though rendered in modern literary English, the translation retains the Hebrew imagery appropriate to the ancient biblical world.

The translation, of course, is wonderful, which is why I wanted a separate copy of the Psalms. Of course, it would be nice if the print were big enough to read. I would also prefer to have the cover glued on the right way around. Oh, well, you can't have everything.
