Description

Fiction. Romance. HTML: Wedding bells are ringing in Fool's Gold, but not for Nevada Hendrix. Her triplet sisters are engaged, and even her mother has a more active love life than she does. Determined to make a fresh start, she applies for her dream job, only to discover that her new boss is her first love. Maybe she could overlook the fact that they've seen each other naked, but she'll never forget the way he broke her heart. Tucker Janack agrees to Nevada's "business only" ground rules. After all, love is a trap that the construction millionaire has avoided his whole life. But when great business partners turn out to be so much more, every rule gets broken. Will either of them be willing to try again...or will their past get in the way?

Fans of the Fool's gold series will be happy to know this book does not disappoint. It is in the same fashion as the other books, so no surprise in style or happenings, but that's the beauty of Fool's Gold. Fans read to have a nice romance with tension and obstacles to the main characters falling
Show More
in love.

The is the love story for the third triplet, Nevada. It also follows the budding love life of their widowed mother and Jo the bartender. I'm not a big fan of other romances or side stories in most books, but these are easily worked in. For those that don't care about side romances you can skim those sections without missing anything major in the plot. We get caught up on the other sister's romances and the ending has a very nice happily ever after only Fool's Gold can provide. Seriously though, I want to be as all knowing and smart as the Mayor. That woman is awesome!

Susan Mallery brings us back to Fool’s Gold with the sixth installment of the series, Only His. This time, the story belongs to Nevada Hendrix, the last triplet to be featured in the series. Having read the three stories about the Hendrix sisters, I have to say that Only His
Show More
was my favorite.

Nevada Hendrix is a triplet to Dakota and Montana Hendrix. They share everything. From their quirky personalities, similar beauty, and smart wits, there isn’t much that separates the triplets from each other. That is until Nevada’s sisters found love and got engaged. Nevada is beyond thrilled for her sisters, and eventually she too will find love. But for now, she wants to find herself.

Nevada has left the family business to challenge and use her skills, and in return, prove to herself that she can be her own woman. Nevada is on her way to interview with a construction company that will build a casino and hotel in Fool’s Gold. She is confident as she steps in the room to interview with the owner of Janack Construction. But of course, the unexpected happened. Instead of Mr. Janack, Nevada will be interviewed by Tucker Janack. Did I mention that she was in love with Tucker? Complicates things, doesn’t it?

Flashbacks of Nevada’s past are told throughout Only His, and we see a different side of Nevada. We see how Nevada falls in and out of love with Tucker Janack. So when I said a complicated interview, that doesn’t even begin to describe it. But Tucker and Nevada are adults now. The past was ten years ago. Tucker knows that Nevada is the right person for the job, and has apologized for the past. Will Nevada let go of the past to get the job done? Only Nevada has the answer to that.

Aside from Nevada and Tucker’s main story, there are also subplots that happen in Only His. Mallery introduces us to a few new faces and allows us to get to know some older ones.

The story between Will, Tucker’s right hand man at Janack Construction, and Jo, owner of Fool’s Gold bar, is one that almost stole the show. There were some moments where their story took center stage and almost outshines the relationship between Tucker and Nevada. I finally found out about Jo. Her story breaks my heart, and while I admired Will for his tenacity, he seemed to be a little aggressive with his feelings.

Another story that we see a glimpse of is the story between Denise and Max. We have seen the mother of the Hendrix clan, Denise, since the first book. She has always been a warm presence in Fool’s Gold. With the sadness of her husband’s death, there was always an empty void to fill. A few dates and a rekindled romance later, she finds her answers and happiness with Max.

Like I said earlier, this was my favorite in the last three books. Nevada was someone that I truly related with. I have been in her shoes, and felt every emotion that Mallery relayed in the story. While I felt that some subplots and supporting characters overshadowed the magic happening with Tucker and Nevada, the overall story was great. I was a bit disappointed that Nevada had to share the spotlight, but I think I found out enough about her.

Mallery has a lot of talent, inventing new scenarios and bringing back old ones. It was funny, sweet, and absolutely enjoyable. I couldn’t put it down! I must admit, I lost sleep and finished it in one night.

For those of you who love a great story, get to know Nevada and Tucker in Only His. You’ll adore Nevada, fall in love with Tucker, and want to move in to Fool’s Gold.

The final book of the story of Hendrix's triplet; tells the story of Nevada and Tucker who has a history ten years ago, met again under a different situation. Nevada is going for an interview with Tucker's company for a position in the company. Ten years ago, they spent a night together which both
Show More
of them tried hard to forget. However, fast forward to today, both of them still remember that one night with Nevada, trying hard to forget it while Tucker trying hard to make amend.

I read the book about the story of Montana, Nevada's sister here and i find that this intensity of the romance in this book is softer as comparable to Montana. Nevertheless, i m still enjoyed reading this book very much ;)

For the most part I enjoyed the story of the last unengaged triplet, Nevada--she's a fun character and there were quite a few laugh out loud moments (when she finds her mother in a compromising position on the kitchen table was classic). The side stories were fun too--Denise and Max (finally!) and
Show More
Jo and Will rounded out the book nicely with their own dramas--though I admit I would have liked to have seen Jo get her own book, it was great to see her mystery solved and for her to get her own happy ending. My biggest complaint with this book is that it really got rushed at the end. It felt like everything needed to happen quickly--the deadline of her sisters' weddings was fast approaching and so we needed and got a resolution--but it really didn't feel as if it was a fully developed one. Will needed to forgive and be forgiven, and SNAP! done. Tucker needed to come to his senses, and BAM! he did. Problem solved. Book over. Future books are nicely set up here, giving readers something to look forward to.

Only His Fool's Gold Series by Susan Mallery
Love the sound of this town, close to the city and in the heart of the mountains and country and wine vineyards nearby.
Nevada was trying to get the next site job. She thought she'd be meeting with the older man, not the son, who she had gone to bed with
Show More
years prior.
Tucker doesn't know why she won't take the job, she finally agrees and it's so hard to keep business in the forefront because she wants to have sex with him.
Nevada is a triplet, Montana and Dakota are her sisters.
Ethan, her brother took over the family business, when their father unexpectedly had passed away just weeks ago.
He introduced wind turbines and was able to help put all of them through college, putting his education on hold.
This is the town where every main job is done by woman, it still astonishes me!
There is also a story of their mother, Denise. She has hooked up with a man her own age and after they hook up she has a crisis and breakdown because she feels she's betrayed her dead husband.
The building of the casino is in place and on schedule. They have to do some blasting which is new to Nevada.
It started with a kiss and then onto hot steamy sex.
Kat, who had gone out with Tucker 10 years ago is back in town. She is the famous metal sculpture and wants to give the town square a giant vagina.
artist. Kat shares another secret with Nevada.
After the explosion there is a problem that halts further progress on the casino.
Another story is when Jo tells Will of her past and he can't forgive her and move on, he wants to leave.
Nevada's sisters are to be married on the same day, same ceremony. Lot of work for a double wedding.
Love what they did rather than having the wedding cake, so unique.

Another Fool's Good book - they all seem to be very similiar but are good books to listen to on the way home from work.

This story is about the third twin Neveda. Also Jo and Will and a piece of art shaped like a vagina. Yep I said vagina!

This book is about Nevada Hendrix! Ive been waiting a while to read it :)

I liked this book I did. but I didnt feel a very strong connection to Nevada. Her love story didnt get me like Montana's or Dakotas. I dont know why. She was likeable, I guess she didnt seem to have much personality in the
Show More
book.

I loved getting to know Annabelle, Heidi, and Charlie. I cant wait to read their stories!

The biggest disappointment was Jo and Will. Oh, dont get me wrong ive been wondering when Jo was gunna get her book. but thats the thing. I feel I wanted to get to know Jo. shes a big part of the town and girls night. Why did she decide to buy the bar? Why did she do what she did. I had so many questions. I wanted Jo to have her very own story. still it was ok. im glad she found someone. I just wish for a little more depth.

All in all, it was a good read. not my fave but it was still good.

Another good read by Susan Mallery. I loved that the triplets mom was getting some loving and that the secret of Jo was finally revealed.

Nevada's romance begins when she has a job interview with the man she fell in love with as an 18-year-old at a time when he was obsessed with another woman. Tucker Janack is the heir to a large construction firm and has grown up at construction projects all over the world.

Nevada and Tucker met when
Show More
he was sixteen and she was ten when he came to Fool's Gold for a summer cycling camp and then reconnected when she went to college in LA. He broke her heart in LA and she'd be perfectly good never seeing him again but she really wants the job for their newest project in Fool's Gold.

Meanwhile, Nevada's sisters have found their true loves and are planning their weddings and Nevada is in a relationship that Tucker tells her is just short term with no strings attached. Then the woman Tucker was obsessed with comes to Fool's Gold. She is a famous artist of massive talent and massive ego. Tucker quickly learns that whatever they had in LA was gone. The only thing left was the lesson that love was too painful to endure.

A couple of other romances are also side stories in this book. The triplets' mother reconnects with her first love and bartender Jo falls in love with Tucker's righthand man at the construction project. Both of those romances are anything but smooth and easy.

I liked the relationship between Nevada and Tucker and loved the Fool's Gold setting. Cat the egocentric artist added some humor to the story and some romantic tension too.

Only His
3.5 Stars

Seeking new professional challenges, Nevada Hendrix applies for a position as site manager on the new construction project in Fool's Gold, only to learn that the boss is none other than Tucker Janack, the man who broke her heart ten years before. After agreeing to a strictly
Show More
business relationship, Tucker and Nevada soon realize their folly, but can they overcome the problems of the past and have a future together?

Each of the three romances depicted in this novel has its merits and its drawbacks.

Nevada and Tucker's story is the most prominent and they have great banter and chemistry. The fact that they actually have adult conversations rather than behaving like angsty teens is a big bonus. Unfortunately, the inclusion of Caterina into the equation adds an unnecessary air of ridiculousness to the plot. Nevada's patience and weird affection for her are incomprehensible given the events of the past.

The two rekindled love affair between Denise Hendrix and Max Thurman is charming; however, its development was lacking, especially considering the hints of a conflict in the previous book. This never materializes and Denise's minor meltdown over Max's proposal comes across as silly and childish.

Finally, the romance between Jo Treliss and Tucker's best friend, Will Falk is wonderful until he behaves like a complete jackass. He apologizes and gives a lame excuse for his behavior, so everything in unrealistically hunky-dory. Not convincing at all.

Despite these issues, the book is entertaining and I look forward to continuing with the next mini-trilogy in the series.
