I think I enjoy this book more than my kids (1 year) do, but I do really like it. There's a song that goes with the pictures and so it's fun to read. There's lots of repetition which is great for little ones, and the pictures are engaging.

Good days of the week book, and repetitive. Has a song at the end of the story.

Eric Carle has become one of my favorite authors. This book talks about the days of the week and is a book i would read to a younger crowd.

Although the illustrations are beyond beautiful (I simply adore Eric Carle!), the text and story are seriously lacking. While one could argue that the inclusion of various foods eaten by various animals displays diversity, I think it's all just a bit too much. Appropriate for all ages!

This book will be great for helping kids remember the days of the week. Great for grades k-2. We can have the kids write down the things like like to do each day of the week.

This book will be great for helping kids remember the days of the week. The illustrations are beautiful and the story is very simple and would be a good tool to educate the younger children. It would be a fun read with a class because every day repeats what was eaten the previous day and there was a

song at the end of the book, which I'm sure the class would enjoy.

Today Is Monday is a song book where the days of the week coincide with the the daily meal. Each day of the week features a new food item. Monday is string beans. The illustrations by Carle are captivating and give the song a humorous accompaniment.

Today is Monday is a great concept book which teaches days of the week and allows children to use memorization.

This book has a day of the week and a certain dish that corresponds with that day. For each new day there is new dish. Also when there is new day, the old ones follow. This is an easy ready for children and can be fun to read aloud to them.

This book takes a fun look at the days of the week from the perspective of food! Animals, created in the Eric Carle style, eat their way through the days of the week. This fun chant like writing is also set to music which can be sung together with adult and child(ren). All you hungry readers, come

and eat it up!

Carle goes through the days of the week, where an animal is eating a different type of food on each day. This is a great way to teach the days of the week, as well as explore different types of animals.

Easy way for kids to learn the days of the week. This book is based off of the nursery rhyme Today is Monday.

Review: This book is a good example of an informational book and it gives information about the days of the week in a unique way. Each day is described with a food, and a corresponding song is included at the end of the book.

This cumulative tale goes quickly through the days of the week, each day featuring a different animal and a different food. At the end of the book there's a bit of sheet music indicating how to sing the song.

This is a very short book, and well-suited for toddlers. Not one of my favorites, but we do

manage to fit it in a few times a month.

Please note that this edition is oversized, and may be difficult to shelve.

This is a cute book that teaches the days of the week with different foods in the form of a story and a song. It also uses different animals and the text is repetitive. This can be used to teach math skills, different animals and foods. The repetitive text builds memory and can implement body

Today is Monday, today is Monday
Monday, string beans
All you hungry children
Come and eat it up.
String beans, spaghetti, ZOOOOP, roast beef, fresh fish, chicken and ice cream are the delicious fare during the week in this popular children's song. Until Sunday. Then, all the world's children are invited to come together and share in the meal.
Celebrated artist Eric Carle brings new energy and heart to these much-loved verses as lively animals parade across the pages, munching on favorite dishes, and introducing young readers to the names of the days of the week. Both art and song invite children of all ages to join the procession and sing along.

This book has unique illustrations. It reviews the days of the week and ties them to different foods. This book is a fun and silly book for young readers.

This book is agreat resource to help a child learn the days of the week. Every page is an animal that is eating a certain food on each day. The story line is simple but the repitition can really impact the reader. The illustrations are great just like all Eric Carle's work

Eric Carle introduces children to the days of the week with this predictable text book. It's all about food that the animals eat on the different days of the week. Each page repeats what was eaten the day before, so every page ends with "Monday spaghetti".
LibraryThing member Krguarisco
Become familiar with the days of the week through this repetitive story about what’s on the menu for that day. Monday string beans, Tuesday spaghetti, Wednesday zoooop, Thursday roast beef, Friday fresh fish, Saturday chicken, and Sunday ice-cream.

Today is Monday is a book involving animals, food, and days of the week; it builds up from each previous page in a cumulative manner. This book is good for early childhood or very early elementary. It teaches days of the week in a repetitive and predictable manner with animals and food involved.

This is a concept book designed to teach children the days of the week. Each page introduces a new day of the week "Today is Monday, Today is Monday" and then a new food for the day, "Monday string beans." and finishes with the line, "All you hungry children come and eat it up." The next page
Show More
introduces the next day and the new food for that day, and repeats any previous days and their food, finally ending with the same phrase, "all you hungry children come and eat it up". It can be read aloud traditionally or sung as a song(the recommended singing it) but be warned the song may get in your head!) I think it is a fun and interesting way to introduce children to the days of the week and make learning the days of the week a fun thing. The repetition of the days of the week on each page makes memorization much easier. The illustrations, like all illustrations by Eric Carle, and wonderful and highly appealing the children.
