Nathan Schneider shows in places that he is capable of writing some fascinating pieces. I particularly liked the passages in the book on Descartes and Spinoza. Unfortunately much of the book is a rambling on his search for God during his adolescence and his friends' opinions, and I am not nearly as

fascinated as he is by this subject .
I do want to read more of his writing in hopes that he can target the subject matter to a wider audience. A recent radio interview was very interesting and reflected deeper interests than the personal trials and tribulations of his adolescence.
