This is an outstanding, 'coffee table' style book about the pilots and air warfare in World War I. Due to its length, 192 pages and excellent use of photographs and illustrations, it does not go into any aspect of the air war in depth. It does talk about many of the major aces, including Guynemer,

Nungasser, Fonck, Richthofen, Mannock, Rickenbacker (Rickenbacher) and Frank Luke and mentions many others. Some time is spent on the planes and tactics, but this is about the pilots. A good overview. Show Less
