Durland calls Friends to live by an apocalyptic vision, rejecting the existing world structures, living in simplicity, community, pacifism, and equality, witnessing to the Kingdom of God, to the Light that will overcome the darkness.
In a real sense, the end times are always our own times. This was written in 1988; many people these decades later also feel a sense of impending world catastrophe.
This pamphlet should get a three to five star rating, depending on how apocalyptic you are. I compromised and gave it four, which actually is a pretty good assessment, I think.
