The Pumpkin Patch Parable would be described as a folktale because the plot is in past tense. The sentences also sound as if they are meant to be told in just an auditory storytelling version. The story follows one man and his journey through the harvesting of pumpkins and adds an alternative to

The setting descriptions were limited and didn't give much background to where the farmer was located. In the plot the author does describe what season and the timing the man followed which helped a little. Overall little detail was given about the setting opening the imagination for the readers.

A farmer plants, harvests and carves a pumpkin. The story includes scriptures at the bottom of each page that speak of how God cares for us like we care for seed and plants.
