Lo Scarabeo (2000), Edition: First, Cards
Description
Hieronymus Bosch's unusual vision of the 16th century provides the filter through which Atanassov worked to create the Bosch Tarot. The quaint, the puzzling, the mildly amusing, the simply absurd, and sometimes even the lovely go hand-in-hand with the rawest monstrosity and the most disturbingly grotesque images. All the cards are titled in Italian, English, French, German, and Spanish. The companion booklets for most Lo Scarabeo decks are in five languages: English, Spanish, French, Italian, and German.

The artist did an amazing job of translating the art style of Hieronymus Bosch into a tarot deck, the artwork and colors are just amazing. However, if I were to use this deck for readings I would have to fall back on the meanings from memory as nothing in this deck speaks to me in terms of meanings
I did like how they tweaked the meanings of the cards in the little booklet that comes with the deck, making them fit both the traditional meanings of the cards but also making them fit the images and inspiration of Bosch's work.
I bought this one for the artwork alone and on that front it more than delivers, but I will never use this one for readings.
