A good general history of the Russian Revolution, from the last years of Nicholas to the Bolshevik triumph. Very readable, even a quick read, with enough detail to be interesting and provide a good history without getting caught up in unimportant side issues. It may be outdated - it's from 1954 and

presumably more detail has emerged that might slightly change or amplify some of the events - but as a general history it stands up well. If this is a topic that interests you as a casual matter, then this is definitely a solid choice.
