Desmond Morris studies mankind's social behavior and explains it as he would an animal, indeed pointing out in his introduction that "We are animals, after all." The photos make it interesting and are taken from many cultures, with a 1960s feel to them. Certainly worth looking through.

Outdated now, but still an interesting read. I think Morris pioneered the concept of anthropological observation of "civilized" people as distinct from "primitive" tribespeople, at least I cant remember any others prior to him, but whatever academic value this book had long since become obsolete as

anthropology has advanced by light years since its publication, but as a read its still entertaining and insightful.
