This is a fantasy book that allows children to use their imagination while doing daily or required tasks. It is fantasy because monsters don't really take baths or talk to you, like the main character enjoyed during the book. The author reveals the boy as the main character by following him

throughout the book and describing his actions and interactions with his family and the beast. The boy took his bath and got ready for bed with the help of a beast, and had fun while doing it all. Media:Ink and Wash Show Less

This book is great because it allows children to use their imagination while doing everyday taks. I would read this book to early elementary children.

I first came across this book back in 1980. I have loved telling it to my children and now use it with my clients. Its a great story for kids who worry about monsters at night and kids in general. Love this book.
