It was fine. I enjoyed the snails. But it felt like this story thought it had a romance plot in addition to the snail adventure plot, and it really didn't feel that way to me. A plot requires, in my mind, that the characters or the world is different in some way after the resolution of the plot.

And despite Aric and Emrys exchanging "I love you"s, it didn't seem like anything was different for them, they would continue on as they had before the exchange, and if they hadn't exchanged words then they still would have continued on. How they act and relate to each other isn't any different at the end of the story from how it is at the beginning. Or if there is a difference, it's subtle enough that effectively nothing's changed. The story's only about 50 pages though, so it's an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon with giant snails destroying crops, that part I did find a lot of fun.
