Description

Pie Comics began as a college comic strip way back is the mid '00s, when flip phones roamed the earth. But it wasn't until a shoulder injury forced John to simplify his drawing style and improvise the comics instead of actually sitting down and writing them that Pie Comics became the beloved strip it is today! This collection showcases some of the funniest and most trenchant of Onion writer John McNamee's online comic strips, found at piecomic.tumblr.com. Onion writer John McNamee's absurdist humor is on full display in this first print collection of his deceptively simple, stealthily clever Pie Comics.

This collection of comics, usually literature related, was just not for me. It’s not my type of humor. There were a few strips that put a smile on my face, but most, not so much. My favorite strips are probably Humpty Dumpty and the Mirror on the Wall.

Stupid, clever, brutal, and most of all hilarious. McNamee has fun with familiar figures from fairy tales, comic books and the Bible. And caused me much embarrassment, as I failed in suppressing my guffaws in the break room at work.
