I have so very many issues with this book. I don't think Matt's reasons for pleading guilty in court make sense. I don't like how sanctimoniously Matt acts towards Elektra. I still froth with rage every time how Matt treats Kirsten with regards to the mind wipe by the Purple Children from Soule's

run is brought up. (Also, why is Kirsten white?) (For the record, Mattia Iacono (colorist for issues #21-#22 & #24) gives her a darker, non-white skin tone like she should have. Marcio Menyz (colorist for issues #23 & #25-#30) gives her a very pale skin tone, and I do not like it.) Matt learning that the American prison system is really good at creating criminals who are then released back into the general population once their sentence is done and really bad at rehabilitating criminals into law-abiding citizens upon release is the most basic take on the America's penal system, especially given that Matt has spent most of his law career as a criminal defense attorney. He shouldn't need to spend time in prison to find sympathy for criminals; he should already have it.

Good parts: any time Foggy Nelson is on the page. He is a ray of sunshine and a delight, doing all the yelling at Matt's nonsensical decision-making that I wish I could do. Thank you, Foggy, for being the person in this volume with a lick of common sense and an understanding of reality. If only Matt would actually listen to you instead of thinking how much he appreciates you before ignoring all of your very good advice.
