A slightly unusual Verne story that starts off as a supernatural tale, but turns out to be about experiments in electricity being used to frighten Transylvanian villagers and lure a love rival into a trap. Lightweight and engaging.

This was another decent Verne read. While the beginning was slow to get into, once you are locked in the story rolls along smooth and pleasingly. A fine tale that offers much for the imagination. This was still worth the read, although I consider it a lesser Verne novel.
