Description

Author and pastor Craig Groeschel helps you uncover who you really are-a man created with a warrior's heart in the image of God-and how to fight the good fight for what's right. You will find the strength to fight the battles you know you need to fight-the ones that determine the state of your heart, the quality of your marriage, and the spiritual health of your family. The battles that make you dependent on God as the source of your strength. The battles that make you come alive. Not only does God want you to fight, he wants to give you a cause greater than yourself. Then, once you love something enough that you're willing to die for it, you'll be set free to live. Consider what the leader Joab said to inspire his warriors in 2 Samuel 10:12: "Be strong and let us fight bravely for our people and the cities of our God" (emphasis mine). Fight for a cause greater than yourself. It's in you. You know it's there. You can feel it. You have the heart of a warrior. Learn how to fight with faith, with prayer, and with the Word of God. Then, when your enemy begins to attack, fight for the righteous cause that God gave you. Draw a line in the sand. Make your enemy pay. Make sure he gets the message. Don't cross a warrior. Don't mess with this man of God. Come out fighting. And don't show up for this fight unarmed. Use the weapons God gave you, and you'll win. Can you feel it? It's inside you. It's time to fight like a man.… (more)

Fight: Winning the Battles that Matter Most is an impassioned plea to men to be the spiritual champions God has created them to be. Craig Groeschel, pastor of LifeChurch.tv, walks through the life of Sampson in this short, easy-to-read book.

Groschel is an engaging author. His communication style

would make english teaching cringe; you can hear him talking in his writing. I think his emphasis on the warrior within men is, at times, over-stated. I wish he would balance his position with a healthy dose of what Jesus says about humility, turning the other cheek, and walking a mile in our brother's shoes. Still, I think this book hits a target that needs hitting. The church is full of men who have abdicated their role as spiritual leaders in their homes. Groeschel challenges them to repent, and to serve the Lord with a hot heart!

The short chapters make this a helpful book for men who don't like to read. I would encourage you to buy a copy and pass it around.
