Brief description:

From the dust jacket:

Ali Bengali is a soldier who has come out of the desert from a Middle Eastern country to accomplish a specific mission of revenge against the United States of America. A man of war, he has no living relatives who would mourn his passing, and the only woman he ever loved is being held in an Israeli prison as a convicted terrorist.

In the United States, it is the Fall of the year, the foliage at its peak in color. College football games are number one popularity among spectator sports, and for the first time ever the two leading candidates for the prestigious Heisman trophy play for the military academies. One is the wide receiver for Army, while the second contender is the quarterback for the Air Force team. The final game of the season will find the two cadets facing on the same playing field as the rival teams meet at West Point. The high quality of play the two squads have demonstrated throughout the season has led to the game being selected for national televising during weekend prime time.

On the day of the game, the stadium at West Point is filled to capacity with fans, and there are
a number of important dignitaries among them. Included in the distinguished visitors section is the crew for the next planned space shuttle. During the close contest, while many of the fans at home are viewing the game over their lunch,Ali makes his move. The surprise of an unexpected attack witnessed on national television exposes a vulnerability that can only be compared to Pearl Harbor and its effect on the American people. Unlike Pearl Harbor, where the Japanese were immediately identified as the perpetrators, no one person or group steps forward to claim responsibility for thedisaster at West Point. A shocked and angered nation has no one to retaliate against.

With his primary mission successfully completed, Ali decides to humble the authorities even more as he moves on to thealternative target he had been given if West Point proved an impossible task. He heads for-the Air Force Base near Alamagordo, New Mexico, the home of the largest tactical fighter wing in the United States Air Force.
