Brief description:

A Romance of Algiers and the Desert. Between the Civil War and World War I more than few West Point graduates employed their military skills as soldiers of fortune for foreign governments. Max Doran, scion of a well-to-do family in New York having graduated fourth in his class at West Point, is stationed at Ft. Ellsworth Kansas, when a telegram calls him home to his dying mother. Events ensue which cause him to resign his commission and travel to France. He meets a young woman, who is the daughter of a Colonel in the French Foreign Legion. Max decides to join up......adventure and romance ensue.
