This book had so much potential! It was just to short and under developed. It really could have been great, but it was like the setup for a story. I felt like I read 2 chapters or the back jacket.

This is a prequel of sorts to the series. I thought it was pretty well done. Matthew's attitude toward Rachel and how she couldn't become a warrior because she was a woman made me laugh.
