It's really a collection of some of Dickson's finest short stories, thoughtfully listed in the other review. They were published in years ranging from 1951 to 1969. While the book takes its title from the most recent short story ("Ancient, My Enemy" was published in 1969), I most recommend "In The

Bone" as my own favorite. His prose is always rich, and worth reading for the pleasure of it, but that particular story will stay with you (at least it's stayed with me). Show Less
