Nancy Mehl has done it again, this is a riveting read, and once you start you won't want to put it down, not without answers.
We are given two examples of what happens to us as children, forms us into the adults we become, and it can go either way, good vs evil.

Behavior Analysis, you will cringe at what happened to her as a child, but she has now gifted her talents to the FBI. Now, the evil one has made this one even more personal, and most of mankind is counting on her and others to save them.
There was one person that I had suspicion about, but put in the back of my mind, so it was a wow, when they appeared on the side of the evil one.
As the murder count mounts, will Alex and the other agents succeed in thwarting the destruction that is planned, and will she begin trusting God? Answers come, and we hope they are what we are for good!
This book is part of a new series, and now I can't wait for the next read!
I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Bethany House, and was not required to give a positive review.

This is a fast read and fantastic. I loved getting to know Alex and the rest of the BAU. I have always loved hearing and watching shows and books that have things that talk about how criminals are caught. This gets into the thoughts of the killer. It was interesting to see how other people can get

in to strange beliefs. I did not want to put this book down. I received a copy of this book from the author for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

I am so excited that the author has started a new series. She is one of my go to authors for intrigue and suspense stories. This book delivers a heart pounding story that starts off with terrifying action. I felt my skin crawl as I began the book and realized I would not be able to put the book
Show More
down until I finished it.

The author never disappoints me as she has a gift for writing intense stories that has a message of faith firmly planted in the story. I was intrigued by the story that focused on a cult that believes in everything that goes against Christianity. It delves into a world that is delusional and has followers that are deceived. I could visualize the entire story as the author uses her gift of storytelling.

Alex is my new favorite hero as she faces her past in a race to capture the person who wants to unleash a deadly virus. It is reminiscent of what the world faced recently with COVID 19. How scary it is to think that someone is so sinister to want to destroy others? Alex must face her biggest fear as she unravels the mystery of who the unsub is.

I liked the reference to Criminal Minds as this book reminds me of that show. The FBI has their hands full trying to keep one step ahead of the person who must fulfill his prophecy. I thought The Book the author referred to in the story was brilliant. Her imagination is incredible as The Book becomes the focal point of the investigation. The author gives us curve balls in the story and shocked me with the ending. I am happy to know that there will be a second book coming in this series.

I received a copy of this book from the author and Bethany House. The review is my own opinion.

Night Fall by Nancy Mehl is the first book in her new series, The Quantico Series. This series takes place after the Covid pandemic is over. A killer is out there and a vial of a new stain of Ebola has gone missing. FBI’s BAU agent Alex suspects they are connected to a book her aunt had when she
Show More
was young.

I enjoyed reading this fast paced, suspenseful story that kept me reading to see what was a going to happen next. The parts I enjoyed the most was the way the agents worked together to catch the killer and the Christian belief and biblical knowledge Logan has. I felt some parts were a little dark and were hard to read.

I voluntarily received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher as part of Nancy Mehl’s Night Fall Launch Team. This is my honest review.

I became a fan of Nancy Mehl after reading her Kaely Quinn Profiler series and this new book has certainly boosted my admiration for her writing skills. Night Fall is a thrilling, pulse-altering story that features a deranged person who believes that he is destined to fulfill a prophecy, and a
Show More
chilling look at the difference between true religion and cults. It also spotlights the psychological scars that victims of abuse can carry all of their lives. From the very beginning, the fascinating characters and gripping plot captured my attention and they wouldn't let go. There are also many thought-provoking references to God and His Word, as opposed to the Circle and The Book. The cult that is a big part of this story is named the Circle and its members consider The Book to be their ultimate source of truth. FBI agent and behavioral analyst Alex Donovan was subjected to The Book as a young person and it has affected her deeply. Is she the only person who can unravel the clues in time to prevent death and destruction? Will her determination to escape the traumas of her past prevent Alex from finding the peace that only comes through knowing the one true God?

This is the first book in The Quantico Files series and I'm anxious to see what's waiting in the books that follow. Night Fall is a psychological drama filled with danger, adventure, and surprising twists, along with a very strong faith message. I recommend it to all who enjoy Christian suspense novels.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. There was no obligation for a favorable review and I am voluntarily sharing my thoughts.

My rating is 4 out of 5 stars.
Alexandra or Alex Donovan is a Behavioral Analyst for the FBI. She is very good at her job. She has her emotional walls built high to protect herself and to keep control. She had a very tough childhood and wants
Show More
to keep the past in the past. However, when the Train Man makes himself known, her past comes rushing back and her control of her life is cracked. Her partner for this case tries to keep her grounded in Christian faith. Alex must use all tools, including her inside knowledge from her past, to catch this killer.
Logan is an FBI agent with the BAU as well as Alex. He is a Christian and longs for Alex to rely on God for help during this tough case and afterwards. He can see Alex struggling with her PTSD and the memories from her past, growing up with an aunt who was a member of a cult. Logan begins to develop romantic feelings for Alex but keeps them in check. Will Alex let him into her life?
One negative thing about the novel were that readers are shown fairly early on who the bad guy is, which detracted from the mystery of the “who-dunnit” part of the story. However, there were some really good, intense scenes that got my heart racing and I always enjoy seeing the good guys capture the bad guys, having justice prevail. The romance isn’t the central aspect and is on the light side. This was a good beginning to the series. I look forward to the next novel to see what characters will be center stage and what suspense-filled crime they must solve.

A chilling and thrilling novel, this book kept me up much too late on several occasions as I was swept into the twists and turns of the story. It is obvious to me that the author did her research regarding the inner workings of the FBI and BAU and I appreciated how she incorporated this information
Show More
seamlessly into the fast paced storyline. She also tackles difficult subjects such as anxiety and PTSD with careful consideration. I greatly enjoyed the plot and the suspense in this book. I liked Alex’s partner, Logan, almost immediately, but it took me a little bit more time to appreciate Alex and all that she went through to become the person she is today. I’m excited to see where their relationship might head in the rest of the series. There are some creepy aspects to the killer and for that reason I definitely recommend this for mature audiences, but I appreciated the spiritual themes woven throughout the novel and did not find the content inappropriate for Christian fiction. Overall, I enjoyed this suspenseful novel and look forward to the next book! Recommended to those who like contemporary suspense!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. Opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

If you aren’t squeamish, then Night Fall, a suspense/thriller by Nancy Mehl could be the book for you. It definitely had the creep-factor going for it with a seriously sick killer. The book centers on main character FBI agent Alex Donovan who is called into the case not only for her profiler
Show More
expertise, but because she is intimately familiar with many of the elements of the investigation, a fact that gives her both a leg-up and a disadvantage. Alex has ties to the cult that seems to be part of the case. The reader is also given insight into the killer’s mind — I liked this, but it really did send chills up my spine! There is a bit of romance, and though it played a small part in then novel, I expect more in the other books in the series. Alex grows a lot through the course of this book, but she is a somewhat troubled character with a lot to overcome. I look forward to her development in the next two books.

Recommended.

Audience: Adults.

Nancy Mehl did not disappoint me with her new book. I was held captive from the beginning all the way to the end. My only question is “When will the second book be out?”

I read this book in two days, which for me is unusual these days. I could hardly put it down. The storyline was very
Show More
captivating and pretty real and scary. There are things that creeped me out because I share some of the same fears as the main character. The author did a great way of sharing God’s love for people without being preachy. When characters are Christians and their faith is just presented as who they are and not in an overly pushy, preachy manor, I know the author is great at writing.

Anyone who loves a great suspense that will keep your attention throughout the whole book, will love it!

-The Train Man, A NUSERY RHYME
Do you hear the Train Man rumbling in the night?
Can you see his dreadful face grinning in delight?
If you hear his horrid wheels clicking round and round,
Cover your head and plug your ears to block the frightful sound.

For any little boy that hears the Train Man
Show More
speak,
Who feels his rancid breath caress their pretty little cheek,
Must close their eyes, pretend to sleep, and very softly pray,
Or else the evil Train Man may carry them away.

Adam Walker was told this nursery rhyme every night by his mom. They believed every person was born either an angel or a demon, and it does not leave your bloodline. It was basically a cult called the circle and they believed in The Book (something similar to the Bible). But, there was no redemption or forgiveness ever. You were born what you were, either good or bad.

Adam grew up believing he was a demon, and he set out to become The Books “Destroyer”. Can FBI agent, Alex, figure out in time how to stop this Destroyer, that promised to wipe out a third of civilization?

If you enjoy crime fiction books, that deals with a cult that is creepy and eerie...this book is for you!
