Description
As dangerous as she is desirable, Modesty Blaise, the cult creation of best-selling writer Peter O'Donnell, returns for three more devastating adventures! Features the classic stories 'The Young Mistress', 'Ivory Dancer' and 'Our Friend Maude', written by Peter O'Donnell and beautifully illustrated by Enric Badia Romero!

A trio of Modesty Blaise stories, with my favorite being the middle one, "Ivory Dancer", which features a return appearance by young Sam (Samantha). Sam is an East Ender who first appeared in an earlier story at age 8, and whose bravery and character captured the hearts of both Willie and Modesty.

Here Sam is 13, and has been invited to join Willie and Modesty on a trip to John Dall's ranch in the USA, where Sam becomes mixed up in a plot to kidnap and hold John Dall's prize race horse, Ivory Dancer, for ransom. It's a fine story that illustrates the high regard that Willie and Modesty hold for Sam, and vice versa. The third story is notable too, featuring Willie's favorite romantic interest, MaudeTiller. The first story features one of my favorites of Modesty's gentleman companions, Giles Pennyfeather. I'm still not a fan of Romero's artwork, but I was spoiled by Jim Holdaway, the Modesty Blaise illustrator until his unexpected death. Show Less
