This book is part of a series in which elves are not only running around the LA area, they race high performance cars.

No really. Shut up.

This particular book deals with the elves and their human friends, attempts to save a young boy from horrific abuse at the hands of a cult. While I like Lackey's

other 'elves in LA' books, this one didn't do it for me. We all know child abuse is bad, and I didn't need to be smacked over the head with that message. This is not one I re-read very frequently.
