Description

CAN THE WIZARD OF RHYME SOLVE A ROYAL CRIME? There's little love lost between the kindly monarchs of Merovence and the scheming sovereigns of Bretanglia. But when the brutish Prince Gaheris--heir apparent to the Bretanglian throne--is murdered during a brawl in a Merovence tavern, any pretense of civility between the two kingdoms flies out the window faster than the mysterious brigand who committed the dastardly deed. Wizard of Merovance, volunteers to find the guilty party and bring him to justice. Unfortunately the road to justice leads to regicide, death and rebirth of an heir, a jaunt to Erin (aka Ireland), a misheivous spirit bound to Matt, and druids - true and false. In the end, though, a true king sits on the throne of Britanglia and Merovance is safe from the threat of invasion once more.

After reading several of the Rogue Wizard books, reading this one was a pleasure. The teasing seems to come easier and I believe it's more fun to underestimate the hero and have him exceed those expectations than to have the hero set up as a superman and have him easily conquer every obstacle apparently without trying.

Looking forward to more books in this series.
