We are all aware of Edward Lear's nonsense poems and many of us also know the story of his not always happy life. This particular book adds many new facts to what is already known. In the first place there are some additional rhymes and sketches which are not included in the original collections.
There is also a selection of letters, some of which concern his cat Foss. The book is illustrated with delightful drawings by Lear.
