Description

To aid an investigation into local drug pushers, Detective Brichter re-opens a 14-year-old murder case--and discovers layer upon layer of corruption and drug trafficking. Even the stoic Brichter is shocked by the discoveries he makes. A spine-tingling thriller. I loved every page. . . .--Elizabeth Peters.

people as Peter. The gangster, her uncle, has raised her but is quite willing to sacrifice her to save himself. Peter must untangle the crimes of murder, drug-running, and blackmail while he tries to win Kori's approval.
Review: This book was much better than I had expected and kept my attention throughout. Descriptions of setting and characters well supported the story and were blended into the tale rather than serving as asides.
