Description

Taking no shitake! From the million-selling Rivers of London novel and graphic novel series by cult writer Ben Aaronovitch comes an all-new tale of supernatural suspense and good-old-fashioned London policing! Peter Grant is a cop and part-time wizard investigating London's 'Falcon' crimes - those that are outside the realms of normal criminal investigations - and more into the realms of trolls under bridges, cursed crime scenes, and the ghosts of monsters past. Peter never saw himself in pest control - but that's exactly where he finds himself when a killer, sentient, living fungus goes on a rampage of vengeance using its victims' worst fears against them!.

Really weird. A lot of convenient bits - Lola falling asleep like that, for instance. Given the ending, I'm not sure why so many people were targeted - kind of pointless, especially the attack on Peter. I _thought_ Molly would notice the missing knives...Toby's contribution was also clever. The end

was definitely convenient - it certainly wasn't getting solved any other way. Not bad, not great, and the GN format really stretches out a very small story - but enjoyable, once at least.

This collection covers the story arc Black Mould. Semi sentient mold is attacking people and the only thing they have in common is the landlord. I like this one because we get Sahra throughout the entire story. Also Peter uses chemistry along with magic in this story to try and solve the problem.

The one shots at the end of the collection are good as always but you need to have read through Foxglove Summer to know everyone they refer to. Overall a fun read and barely enough to keep me going while I wait for the next novel.

One of the things I really like about the PC Peter Grant graphic novels is that DC Guleed gets a lot more screen time in the graphic novels than she does in the books, and we get a bunch of wonderful little interludes with Nightingale.

I'm a sucker for Peter Grant, and this delighted me. Not, I think, as strong as some of the other adventures, but hey, it's a story to tide us over and I'll take it.
