Tell Sackett is one of my favorites of the Sacketts, so I was delighted to see him as the lead in this book. The book was full of tiny twists, including adding a new Sackett to the list: Nolan Sackett, a gunfighter for hire. There is a love story -- or is it a betrayal? I'm not going to tell here!

Tell Sackett finds himself "saddled" with a lady-in-distress who might not be either! Enjoyable tale, with lots of action and less contemplation. Recommended, but try to read the earlier books in the Sackett series in order.

This gang eventually catches them, take the woman and the gold and leave Tell for dead. Of course, Tell vows to find them and retrieve his gold. As he battles a number of bad guys for his gold, he meets up with a cousin, Nolan Sackett, and although he has been working on the wrong side of the law, when push comes to shove, blood is thicker than water.
A quick, action packed read that I thought was a good addition to the series.
