The Year of Silent Birds was gorgeous. It was plotty, and clever, and a little sad.
Enginesong (by Nathaniel Lee who is rapidly becoming a favorite author of mine) was difficult for me to get into because of it's Western theme, but once I did it had a fantastic and sad ending.
