discover a very nasty ongoing disaster that's being loudly ignored by the authorities (in some cases out of true ignorance, in others because it's more convenient that way...) and act. Which, besides being the right thing to do, earns them some solid allies. More groups get involved, and things get very convoluted...and the book ends on a cliffhanger of betrayal. Learning to be a sorcerer is hard when you don't know the rules. Kira takes on the challenge by investing her trust in New people. She wants to do good but this will be seen as weakness. Balance is everything and adventures continue to deliver everything a fantasy novel should.
