Description

"Two people realize that it's no longer an act when they veer off-script in this sizzling romantic comedy by New York Times bestselling author Jasmine Guillory. Ben Stephens has never bothered with serious relationships. He has plenty of casual dates to keep him busy, family drama he's trying to ignore, and his advertising job to focus on. When Ben lands a huge ad campaign featuring movie star Anna Gardiner, however, it's hard to keep it purely professional. Anna is not just gorgeous and sexy, she's also down-to-earth and considerate, and he can't help flirting a little. . . . Anna Gardiner is on a mission: to make herself a household name, and this ad campaign will be a great distraction while she waits to hear if she's booked her next movie. However, she didn't expect Ben Stephens to be her biggest distraction. She knows mixing business with pleasure never works out, but why not indulge in a harmless flirtation? But their lighthearted banter takes a turn for the serious when Ben helps Anna with a family emergency, and they reveal truths about themselves to each other, truths they've barely shared with those closest to them. When the opportunity comes to turn their real-life fling into something more for the Hollywood spotlight, will Ben be content to play the background role in Anna's life and leave when the cameras stop rolling? Or could he be the leading man she needs to craft their own Hollywood ending?"--… (more)

Another charming romance novel by Guillory. When she wrote this, there is no way she would know about recent events with Naomi Osaka and Simone Biles, yet here is her main character, a Hollywood actor, dealing with anxiety. Guillory's romances are never just romance. There is always a current topic
Show More
in her book that her characters must persevere through. That's the draw for me. Plus, a light read is always great mid-summer!

I was starting to lose my pleasure in Jasmine's books, but she is back! This one brought back the fun energy of The Wedding Date, but added better writing to the mix. All in all just a pleasure to read. The main characters, Ben and Anna, are smart and hot, and they have issues but they also have

fun. Anna is an actress and Ben is in advertising. They respect each other and one another's careers and family and friend commitments. They know how to have fun even when there is drama in their lives. Ben and Anna are dimensional people and its really fun to see grown ups who lead grown up lives.) I was delighted that Anna was allowed to be a smart woman who asserts her power with confidence, but is not cranky all the time unlike some other women we met in earlier installments of the the Jasmineverse (Olivia comes to mind, but no one beats Maddy for being a ceaselessly demanding judgmental bitch). Even better, the male lead in this actually has some backbone (without being a jerk.) This one also brings a lot more of the sexy than the last few books. I was about to jump ship, but While We Were Dating reeled me right back in. Book #7, I am here for you.

Very enjoyable rom com that also deals well with mental health.

Did not enjoy it as much as the first 5 in the series - not a Hollywood/actor fan, some silly stuff in parts.

Fun romantic novel. Easy read.

Cute romance between an ad campaign director, Ben Stephens, and the star of the shoot, Anna Gardiner. Ben is immediately entranced with Anna the moment she walks in the room, and she likes his approach to the campaign. But Anna wants to be a big star and she has a plan to make it big in Hollywood.

Their relationship is initially casual, although with very steamy scenes, until Anna's manager makes a proposition to go public with the relationship in the hopes that it will jumpstart Anna's career.
This is a cute romcom, with lots of steamy scenes, and some funny ones too. It is a continuation of The Wedding Date series.

I could read as many books as there are friends and acquaintances and cousins and sisters and brothers and parents and dentists and dog walkers. The cameos were superb! This is a great story of fake dating, a trope that always delivers. I love the playfulness and how the two characters have similar

and also different personality traits that keep the relationship interesting.

Another solid entry in Jasmine Guillory's The Wedding Party romance universe. This one features Ben Stephens, the brother of Theo from The Wedding Party. As always, there is good writing, great sex, and wonderful diversity.

However, I'd really like one of the many queer side characters to be the

protagonist in the next book. Perhaps Penny and Nina will meet and sparks will fly...

Another delightful story in this series. Anna is like the actors I know and I love how clear her world is without it being the focus of the book. Ben is a treat and I loved the two of them together.
