I was really not in the mood for this book, so I kept putting it down. And then I'd realize I really wanted to know what happened to these people, so I'd pick it up again. Interesting setting, very interesting characters (very rich in many ways - protagonists and secondary characters alike),

enjoyable romance. I particularly liked that while physical attraction played a part, it didn't take center stage as it does far too often. They had other reasons for attraction, and other reasons not to act on it. Her powers were fascinating, and I suspect there's a lot more to it than she knows. I would very much like to read other stories in this world (universe), and see Rax and Clara again (and Mal, and what's up with Morg, and...). It's not a standard series romance, where you can see the next book telegraphed - aside from possibly Morg, I didn't see any other romances developing. But there could be excellent stories here without the romantic plot - the universe and the characters are rich and complex enough to support a story without that prop.
