What a great start to what sounds like it will be a really good series. There is mystery, drama and romance, so there is something here for everyone. After losing her job, Bree Tisdale bumps into Zach Liller, the co-owner of a paranormal investigation company. They are looking to hire someone to

work as an assistance and Bree talks her way into the job. What happens to Zach and Bree while they are in the house serves as a second thread to the love story they find themselves in as well. I recommend this book if you are looking for a light read. There are a few intense scary moments but in the genre of a cozy mystery, they aren't too bad and the outcomes are good.

Ghost of a Gamble by J.E. McDonald was a cute story. The porn wasn't really necessary. I would have preferred more in-depth on the Ghost Hunting. The heroine was somewhat goofy, but she was likable. One of these times I'd like a more realistic male protagonist. There really aren't that many

handsome and well-muscled men out there. What's wrong with someone being nice looking, but their personality and chemistry did more than their looks?

I have never laughed so hard in my life and poor Bree just could not catch a break! Time after time fro one job after another she got fired! After she was fired from the bakery because she was late, she lucked out and was hired to be an assistant as a ghost hunter, she vowed to prove to the town
Show More
that they were scammers and they took client's money as EVERYONE knew that there were no such thing as ghosts! Armed with a carpet bag filled with a box of crystals, a woijo board, military boots, and a carrot cake, she went to the address she had been given! Oh my, I can't wait to read the next!!

Ghost of a Gamble is a good first novel. Bree stumbles into a job as a paranormal investigator when she meets Zach after getting fired. Their rom-comm meet cute is exactly what you'd expect as is the common lie leads to a problem that spins out of control. That said the novel is still comforting

and kept me engaged.

Ghost of a Gamble by J.E. McDonald is the first in the Wickwood Chronicles series. It is a superfun romantic comedy, lots of laughs, romance and some spooky things too. When Bree lands a job as a ghost hunter with Zack she really has no idea what she's in for and Zack has no idea what he's got when

he hires Bree. This is certainly not a serious book but it was definitely a fun way to pass an afternoon, I look forward to more! I received a free copy of this book through the Early Reviewers program.

Amazing! Simply amazing. Bree is quite the character quickly drawing the reader in with all her quirks. Zack's chemistry with her is palpable through the pages. The story was phenomenal. I would suggest this book to anyone who enjoys the paranormal and romance.

A good love story with some spooky ghosts tossed in. The main character, Bree you can’t decide if she is just flaky or stuck with bad luck. But she does have a very positive outlook and people naturally like her. Except for Nola! Bree and Zack, her love interest help each other grow and look at

life differently. Since this is going to be a series, I would like a bit more depth with the ghosts. I felt that part of the story only played a minor role. Not sure how I feel about the soft porn!
