Loved Joe McKenzie and his girl Caroline Evans. Not the best book of hers but it has a little bit of everything that made it just right for me.

I liked Colonel Joe Mackenzie and his spunky distraction Caroline Evans. The dialogue was great between them, and she showed him that she was no pushover. Not one of LH's best

A sequel to Mackenzie's Mountain, this is the story of Joe, who becomes an Air Force Pilot, and Test Pilot and what happens when a sexy Engineer, Caroline Evans, joins the team. When sabotage is discovered and she's implicated neither of them know who to trust, their heads or their hearts.

It's not

bad, a little ho-hum occasionally but I did love Caroline as a character.

Another fun Linda Howard. Joe was the son in Mackenzie's Mountain, but now it's 20 years or so later, and he's all grown up and a Colonel in the US Air force. He meets Caroline, too smart physicist/computer something or other and sparks fly. It moves quickly, and their relationship builds very

quickly. I hadn't reread this for some time and found that I liked Mackenzie's Mountain better, but maybe it's because they are so similar (in the characters, not the settings) that reading them back to back isn't a good idea. As a stand alone, I've always loved it. B+

Remember Joe, the pensive and compelling teenager from 'Mackenzie's Mountain'? Well he's back, he's all grown up, and he's more intriguing than ever. This book follows up on the incredible Mackenzie family, setting the tone for a series of extraordinary men and the women who love them. 'Mackenzie's

Mission' has a little bit of everything: romance, sex appeal, and action. My only complaint is that this isn't a full-size novel. I could have easily and happily read more of this one.

Even though I wanted to beat Joe over the head a time or two, I still loved this book. Caroline was just as strong as I remember. I enjoyed her and Joe together.

I really loved this story of Joe Mackenzie and his love affair with genius physicist - and virgin - Caroline Evans. Joe is a colonel in the air force, test pilot extraordinaire. He is also loaded with sex appeal and his intensity scorched the pages as he went after Caroline. Great addition to the

series, though it seemed to lose a little of it's oomph towards the end.

Really good. I liked to see how joe fared in the military and not surprisingly he did extremelly well. Caroline was a blast and I adored her from beginning to end in this book, though Joe didn't fared that well with me. That was a lot of action in the end and plenty of romance to go around. Really

Some initial self talk to establish characters is okay but the prolonged evaluation of every event went on too long and hero's alpha personality was a bit over the top although the story did have an exciting finish. Weapons expert Dr. Caroline is assigned to a project led by pilot Colonel Joe when

Mackenzie's Mission
4.5 Stars

Colonel Joe Mackenzie is in command of the top-secret Night Wing project and cannot allow any distractions. That is until weapons expert, Caroline Evans, gets under is skin. However, someone is bent on sabotage and given her late hours and expertise, Caroline is looking
Show More
like the prime suspect. Is she a traitor or the woman of his dreams?

While the suspense plot is predictable and the traitor’s identity quite obvious, the romance is intense and the characterization add substance to the story.

The sexual tension between Joe and Caroline as they circle each other is palpable and their incredible chemistry and snarky banter makes for entertaining reading. The revelations of Caroline’s lonely childhood and Joe’s traumatic past add nuance to their personalities and goes a long way toward explaining their actions. There is also very little angst in their relationship and the lack of trust issues are thankfully resolved quite quickly.

All in all, a wonderful sequel to the excellent Mackenzie’s Mountain and Linda Howard is rapidly becoming a go to author for me.
