Got this book as a gift for my opinions to Harlequin the past year. Being that I'm over 50 I'm not really interested in reading about how to birth a child and the process but I read the book anyways.
From the start the things I wanted to know about: the winter wonderland of Colorado

and the bling and shimmer of the dinner party wasn't in the book. It starts with a pregnant woman and things that have happened to her in the past.
Her boyfriend and his brother come into play, along with a couple that she had helped deliver the baby. Her parents and sister are all involved and quite a few other Marine friends and fiends. There are 12 character outlined at the beginning of the book and I love that as I got lost real quick and had to revert to using it.
Story line just was not believable to me. It only skims a bit of the plot

I received this book through the Harlequin We Hear You survey. Not bad, not wonderful. A pretty good setup - with actual reasons for Olivia to be pregnant and refusing to marry Troy, good backstories and interesting secrets. And a largely undistracted bodyguard, despite their attraction and her

danger. When he was distracted, it wasn't by her, which made a nice change. The climactic crisis was nicely set up and handled, though I think the final bit was overkill. And for all of that, it wasn't particularly absorbing. Somehow, despite all that good characterization and backstory and so on, they felt just a little bit puppety (her "hormonal swings" didn't help) - they did or said exactly what was necessary to move the plot along, and nothing else. There were also far too many coincidental mentions of things that became necessary to the plot. Ultimately unsatisfying. It didn't help that I kept thinking of Suzanne Brockman's Everyday Average Jones, with many of the same setups (though there, the focus is on the refusing to marry - the danger is in the prologue), which is one of my favorite books - this one pales in comparison.
