Read the originals and then the edited versions. For most of the Telzey stories, aside from changing tapes to chips I didn't notice much difference. Star Hyacinths he changed things around quite a bit - without changing the words much, he moved bits of the story to different places and made it

noticeably smoother to read. It's good to have these - to see what did, and didn't, change. Legacy - lots of very sexist bits which are mildly useful in setting Trigger's attitudes towards those individuals - but that's about all. Other than that, neat story - a lot more about the Hub, in passing, and a fascinating adventure. Planet of Forgetting - interesting! I do want to see what Flint did to it, I don't see a lot that needs modifying. A very interesting alien race, and a neat adventure - though Hace was odd, the reasons aren't clear. Oh, right, he modified it to make it Hub, I think - here it's Earth Intelligence. The Telzey stories I was already familiar with (in both forms); I had not read Star Hyacinths before but have now read both versions. I have still not read Legacy or Planet of Forgetting in the edited versions.
