When I read the blurb of this book I knew that I just had to read it.

I was not disappointed with this book. It was all that I was expecting and more. I got to go on a great adventure. I got several stories

all wrapped into one. There was a great historical story that had the hot passion that I love and it also had the paranormal element of ghosts. And there was also some suspense.

Rhys was a strong man. He didn’t want to believe in anything that he couldn’t see. He has been burned by his wife that died several years ago and he basis everything on that experience. He just can’t explain the feelings that he has for Emme. Emme knows about all the gossip that goes on about her. She never wants to be known for seeing ghosts. She just wants a normal life. She knows that Rhys doesn’t trust her but the feelings that she gets when she is around him is something that can’t be ignored.

I enjoyed the adventure that the author took me on. I was pulled into all directions and never knew what would happen next. Every time that something else happened, I was surprised. Not only did the living have a great story line, the dead did too.

I am trying to come down from this big high that I am on. I was left wanting more. I hope that the author will give some of the other characters their own stories. I was really wanting to know more about them.

I was glad that I took the chance on a new author and read something a little different. I wouldn’t recommend this book if I didn’t enjoy it so much. Take a chance and become a fan of Chasity Bowen.

Emme Walters can see ghosts and she is asked by Dowager Duchess of Briarleigh to a house party to determine whether her son Rhys Brammel killed his wife as the rumours suggest. Part historical mystery, part romance, part paranormal, with scenes of a mature content.
Not my usual read but I enjoyed

this so will be looking out for the next in the series.
