T.A. Lupton’s Bound by Blood was a great read. I always feel like I am taking a big risk when I read a book by a new author, but this was one of those times that I wasn’t disappointed. I think that I laughed three times before finishing the first three pages. F.B.I. Agent Brianna

Reece has moved to Denver in order to work in a special division for difficult cases. Helped along by her psychic ability, she is on the hunt for a serial killer whose victims possess an eerie resemblance to her. The only connection between the murders is that each victim hired Donavon Security to protect them after experiencing a feeling of being “watched.” The sparks that fly off of Brianna at her first glimpse of Nathan Donavan were amazing, and I couldn’t help but smile as I picture their faces as they flirted with one another without trying to seem as if they were. I’m trying to avoid spoilers but Brianna uncovers some truths about herself as well Nathan during her investigation that leave her stunned.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who love Paranormal and Paranormal Romance. Bestsellers to you P.A. Lupton

case. From the moment she meets him, she feels a strange pull daring Brianna to risk everything: her career at the FBI, the truth of her family and the key to unlocking herself....

This is a fantastic beginning to the Garner Witch series. It is a happy combination of urban fantasy, paranormal romance and even a detective story to boot! The heroine, Brianna is a strong, sassy, modern woman - the kind you would expect having chosen law enforcement for their profession. Her gifts are unique, and grow in depth and detail. You can tell P.A. Lupton did her homework for all the research that must have been done to complete this novel. The "mythology" of the book is well thought out and has a unique spin, setting it apart from the herd of your average witch or vampire paranormal romance. The plot was well thought out with a few twists and turns; it kept me guessing until just before the revelation.

I would recommend this book to a friend; at the price I paid, .99cents, it is well more than worth the expense for the amount of enjoyment you will get out of it. For a first novel in a series I was really impressed!

As with any book, there are always at least a few aspects that were lackluster:
♦While the main character, Brianna, is extraordinarily well written, Lupton did not seem quite as comfortable with the male's characters point of view. They were by no means weak, but the depth of emotion and character thoughts and action did on a few occasions seem to contradict the expected response. Most notably, I feel there needed to be more conflict rather than surprisingly quick acceptance.
♦Now I am no perfectionist, or particularly skilled in the art of editing, but there were a few errors that are noticeable. They are easily ignored during reading, and will not impede the enjoyment of the story.

Can I just say that I absolutely loved this book? P.A. Lupton did an outstanding job weaving together a story that was filled with action, adventure, romance, and interesting characters. This book was better than many of the overpriced books that I've read. And for $.99, this book was a gift.

Nathan and Brianna were a fantastic H/h...But the capital "H" in this instance was for heroine and the little "h" was for hero. Brianna was amazing. Using her powers: she saved herself from a rapist when she was a teenager; she saved herself from the crazy vampire and her equally crazy sister; and she also saved herself from the elder she thought was going to kill Nathan.

The story was engaging, witty, and enjoyable. I definitely give it 5++++++ stars.

Great job Ms. Lupton...great job, indeed!

Hardcore FBI agent, Brianna Reece, has a secret: a supernatural ability to detect and channel other people's emotions. She's kept this ability hidden for years, but when she investigates a series of related murders, she is not only forced to reveal her true self, she also discovers that she's not

the only one who's keep keeping secrets.

This book has a lot going for it. The plot is innovative, the pacing is swift, and the characters are interesting. The relationship between Brianna and her partner Morrison is especially well developed. Also, the premise is inventive. It would definitely lend itself to a sequel.

If I was able to stop right there, the book would have gotten a three, possibly four, star rating. Unfortunately, there are a lot of problems. The first deals with mechanics. The spelling, grammar, and punctuation are so poor that there are at least two mistakes on every page. Even a professionally-edited book can contain an occasional error; however, this book reads like a rough draft. Also, since this book is written in first person by a U.S. citizen, spellings like 'colour' should have been amended.

There is also the matter of the main characters' lack of professionalism. It was impossible for me to believe that either Reece or her partner worked for the FBI given how they handled themselves while investigating the crime. Even local law enforcement officers would not have been that inept.

It's sad that a book with this much potential should be treated with such a lack of professionalism. While 'Bound by Blood' accomplished a few of the more difficult tasks of fiction (such as creating an interesting plot), it completely overlooked the easiest task (editing for grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors).

This was an interesting paranormal romance. The story introduces us to Brianna Reece, an FBI agent, who recently relocated from Chicago to Denver. Agent Reece, and her new partner Todd Morrison, are put on a case investigating "special" murders. These special cases are classified "unusual", because

the murder victims were exsanguinated with no visible puncture marks on their body. How and why would a perpetrator drain the blood of a person without leaving a drop of blood? There were no clues as to who was doing it. Nor were there any clues as to how the various victims were connected.

Brianna and Todd's investigation turns up a lead, one person with whom the victims were connected--Nathan Donovan. As Agent Reece and Agent Morrison try to figure out what is going on, Agent Reece is fighting and losing the battle with her feelings for the case's prime suspect. We soon learn that Nathan Donovan is a vampire. Of course, Brianna starts getting the "I want some of that" feeling. Brianna is an empath, and saw that Nathan was shielding his true feelings from her, which should have sent up an immediate red flag. Also, being such a great agent, she wouldn't allow herself to get involved with the prime suspect despite her gut feelings about his innocence. But alas, she falls for Nathan. As a reader, I didn't feel the sincerity of their romance until later in the book. It felt as if Nathan was being "cute" with Brianna in order to keep her distracted. However, as the story progressed and Nathan let his guard down, (so to speak), I was able to see his motives were honorable.

What I really loved about this book:
1) The rapport between Brianna, Nathan and Todd.
While revealing "Brianna's witchy ancestry" and having the characters buy into it right away was a bit contrived, I liked the partnership/teamwork the characters managed to form. I saw three people who genuinely liked each other, each having the other's back. Unfortunately, though, the ending scene reminded me a little too much of Twilight. If you read the book, you'll know what I am talking about.

2) The Heroine was strong, yet not vulgar.
A lot of PNR books have these mental case heroines with potty mouths and bad attitudes. Brianna wasn't like that. She was independent and confident. Nathan wasn't the typical super-possessive alpha male either. Yes, he was a vampire, but he wasn't a domineering male. It felt like Brianna was actually a partner. She could hold her own and fight her own battles. That was actually a pleasant surprise, and one of my favorite points in this story--a heroine who can control her own rescue.

3) The twist at the end with the evil doer.
I had my ideas as to the true villain all along, so it is nice to be surprised in the end when my guess wasn't completely correct. However, abandonment issues can be a breeding ground for revenge plots.

Overall, I think the author did a good job entwining the lives of the characters, Brianna, Nathan and Todd. I gave the book 4 stars because I felt it was a really good first book. There were a few issues with the plot, but I was completely taken in by the story. I am hopeful that Book 2 will fill in some blanks and be even stronger.

I have been pretty fortunate to be asked to review some great Self published books and I'm adding BOUND BY BLOOD to the "I'm super glad I agreed to read it" list. Brianna is is an FBI agent. She has always been able to tell what others are feeling and was never sure why but it definitely helped her

in her job. She transfers from Chicago to Denver Colorado and on her first case in her new city a series of murders leads her to Nathan who is a vampire and the information that she is a not only a witch but a very powerful witch from a powerful bloodline and shes next on the killers radar.

Brianna is pretty kick ass. She starts the book out pretty strong with showing us that she can take care of herself and doesn't take crap from anyone. Although she of course has a tad bit of denial about the information thrown at her she pushes ahead and decides to use everything she is to the best of her ability while she finds out what she can really do. Nathan was a great addition to the story. He is a pretty old vampire so he is a bit old fashioned and I loved the way he courted Brianna. They had some pretty instant chemistry and it was nice to get to know him and her together without the instant all over each other that some books (no matter how good lol) tend to have. Ive always enjoyed books that have "police type" investigations involved and there is plenty of that with Brianna and her new partner Todd searching for the murderer. Todd ended up being a big part of the storyline as well and he really was well written in. He really fit in to the dynamics of everything without feeling like a third wheel type addition. There were a good amount of turns to keep me interested in the story, plenty of mystery to keep me guessing, and great romance to keep me looking forward to the development of Brianna and Nathan's relationship. The ending did a good job of wrapping up the current storyline and giving us a place to start with book 2. I look forward to seeing whats next for Brianna, Nathan and even Todd.
