with children and other happy photos. There are a few sad photos, like Obama comforting the parents of the children killed at Sandy Hook. However, these types of photos are meant to show Obama’s compassion and the captions do not go into great detail about the events. I don’t think it will be too much for most kids to handle.

I have loved looking at Souza’s photographs of Obama on Facebook over the years. He is a truly gifted photographer. Check out his Instagram page. He has been posting photos of Barack Obama that relate to events involving our current president. For instance, he posted a photo the other day with a picture of Obama with his hand over his heart and the caption, “Yes, he knew the words.” You know what he was referring to, I’m sure!

Dream Big Dreams is a nice, quality hardback coffee table book. It would make a great gift for any child interested in a photographic history of our 44th president’s compassion, sense humor and accomplishments.

Pete Souza's photographs offer young readers an intimate look at Obama's presidency. Short text keeps the focus on the pictures, many which feature children.

Dream Big Dreams: Photographs from Barack Obama's Inspiring and Historic Presidency by Pete Souza is a book I borrowed from the library. I noticed I was crying after just a few pages! It is such a touching photographic history and a giant reminder of what we don't have now!
There are pictures of

Obama fist bumping a janitor, going into the kitchen of a Mexican restaurant to meet and greet the chefs, shaking hands with the middle eastern man getting his coffee, going out of his was to hug children or touch their hands.
Taking time for his own family too! Playing in the snow like a regular guy! Noticing one of his daughters apart and he goes to talk with her, clowning around with the family, good family memories.
Even with his co-workers there was a respect. He also worked with his speech writer for weeks to months on some projects. He would also comfort families from hurricanes and shootings.
We don't see any of this now. We don't see smiles. 8 long years of no drama, no adultery, no scandals! Just business. Heartbreaking that the republicans blocked him the last six years, imagine what he could have achieved.
Wonderful pictures. Great memories!
His new book called Shade is out and I can't wait to read it!
