One thing I have to say does make me uncomfortable about Elmo is his use of the third person, especially when we get into "Elmo loves you, you're Elmo's best friend" kind of territory that for me at least sorry but evokes sad kids, deprivation, abuse etc. (but maybe in such a situation Elmo's love
