I read this in a kindergarten class room, there is so much to see on every page and the boys expecially can really relate to the boys adventure in the book. If reading to a class be sure to give everyone a good chance to see each page and all the details.

I grew up with Mercer Mayer's Boy, Dog , Frog series of picture books, another amazing illustrator. I remember going through the books over and over again and making up different stories for each time. That is the magic of wordless picture books, they incite the imagination and encourage the little

A young boy and his dog go down to the pond to catch some animals, and they see a frog! He tries very hard to catch him, but the boy scares the frog away. The frog sees that the boy is upset, and follows the boy and his dog home.

Use this book with many grade levels to encourage oral and written storytelling skills, creative and descriptive writing skills, and to focus students' attention to detail when 'reading' the pictures. Younger students may tell the story to their friends, as well as write or dictate a story about a

particular picture. Older students may like the challenge of creating a picture book about an adventure of their own.

This book is about a boy who tries to catch a frog with a bucket and net.

Back Cover: First came a boy and his dog. Then they found a frog. Can a new turtle be a good friend too?

Mine: This is a great new series to me and of course it has frogs in it, so how can I not read it?

What a wonderful picture book and it is true picture book – no words. The illustrations are wonderful and help to tell the wonderful story. The boy goes fishing with his dog and frog and meet up with the turtle as he disrupted the fishing. The fishing doesn’t seem to go too well, but a new friend is made along the way.

A picture story about a wonderful day full of fun where the boy and dog make a new friend.

This wordless picture book tells a great story with fun and interesting pictures. It also incorporates rhyme in it's title. Teachers could have students write poems based off of this story and the characters.
