Storywise, this book gets farther into the series and the charactes, and as a reader you can't help but be compelled. The problem is, the writing is still elementary in skill.

This book gripped me to the point where I was looking for book three before I had even finished this one. Exciting.

true companion? Unfortunately, there are a few too many betrayals in this book, and the tired theme of 'church vs. natives' is beaten to death again in this book. There are some original concepts and some good writing, but nothing spectacular.

Axis reunites Tecendor and a little more of the mystery is revealed. Good fantasy brain candy.
