A lovely collection of well-known and not-so-well-known children's poetry. Cyndy Szekeres' whimsical illustrations are, as always, a delight.

suitable for all ages but have been chosen for their simplicity so that even the youngest ears will appreciate the rhythms and words.

Personal Reaction:

My reaction to this book was how the way each animal used rhyming words.

Classroom Extension:

I would teach the children to learn to use words that rhyme, in case they wanted to use them in poems.

The beautiful color illustrations help explain the poems to little ones. This book contains an excellent selection of poems for very young children.
