Silly me, I thought it was 8000 to 10000 years instead of a few centuries.
The author confuses relics fron many thousands of yeara back with historic Indian
I suppose the lifestyles described of historic age Indians is accurate for that group of Indians, but not necessarily some of the artiffacts mentioned that are much older.
